Informazioni storia

This floor mosaic was discovered in 1862 during the construction of the temporary Termini station.
Brought to light together with some wall frescoes, this mosaic decorated a room overlooking an atrium, which must have been identified as a tablinum, i.e. a reception area where the master of the house had his relations with the public outside, where he transacted his business and received his clients.
Characteristic are the ornamental motifs on a white background that testify to the interest in plant and animal decorations.
