Informazioni storia

It was Augusto Castellani, one of the greatest antiquarian goldsmiths of the second half of the 19th century, who put together the pieces that reconstruct an elegant bronze litter. It is in fact an imaginary reconstruction, a pastiche in which fragments of different origins found in the area of Termini in 1874 are assembled. This special object is actually made up of the fragments of a triclinium bed, a wagon and a chest, according to a restitutive and interpretative practice common in the 19th century.
