Informazioni storia

The work, of very refined workmanship, represents a young girl dressed in a peplos. The peplos, smooth in the upper part of the body with only slightly hinted folds, presents a lively and realistic drape in the lower part. The feet are wearing sandals. The statue is inspired by Greek originals close to the school of the master of Olympia, and was found together with other works, all of the highest sculptural quality. It was discovered in 1921 during the construction of a building in Via Ruggero Bonghi.
